Day 2 – Bring Nature Indoors

What’s not to love about plants?  There are so many ways to bring nature indoors. Head to the markets and pick up dark green leafy pot plants.  Pop them in one of the gazillion baskets currently available and voila – a healthy and stylish addition to your home.

Alternatively, head outside and pick some flowers or branches off your trees and pop them in a lovely vase.  The water element adds another layer of positive energy (as long as it’s clean). 😉

Not a green thumb?  Never fear – you may have seen the explosion of succulents recently.  Succulents thrive on neglect, so there are no excuses.  The preference is to have succulents with rounded leaves.  Keep spiky leaves to a minimum as the feng shui is not as good.

Still not convinced about plants?

Plants purify your air

All indoor plants have the ability to remove harmful compounds from the air. Indoor plants remove pollutants from the air by absorbing gases through their leaves and roots.

Lower your risk of illness

Plant-filled rooms contain 50-60 per cent fewer airborne moulds and bacteria than rooms without plants.  They literally suck out chemicals in the air that could be linked to colds, breathing problems and even cancer.  “Just one plant in a room is fine,  its capacity to remove chemicals is absolutely phenomenal.” Dr Fraser Torpy

Boost your mood

Less stress/anxiety, more positivity and calm – Indoor plants help regulate humidity and increase levels of positivity. Seeing greenery and nature help us feel more relaxed and calm, which in turn benefits your every day mood. Indoor plants serve a practical and aesthetic purpose, and will enhance your life.

Enhance concentration and memory

Research by NASA has revealed that houseplants can remove up to 87 per cent of air toxin in 24 hours. Studies have also proven that indoor plants improve concentration and productivity (by up to 15 percent!).  They also reduce stress levels and boost your mood — making them perfect for not just your home but your work space, too.

Increase creativity and productivity – Less stress = increase creativity. Simples!

Plants not only look amazing, they have great health benefits
